Dear Sal:

Here is some information on John’s background-

Experience

Transportation and Land Use Consultant B John currently represents a number of public and private clients on transportation and land use issues. He has assisted in the financing of large roadway projects, is involved in the largest rail relocation in the State and was part of the team recently awarded the Trans Texas Corridor I-35 project. His clients include cities, counties, construction firms, engineering firms and governmental agencies.

Prior to returning to Texas, John served as an executive for the world’s largest manufacturer of earth-moving equipment and industrial engines. John worked in a number of capacities for Caterpillar including legal counsel for Solar Turbines, Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation and Caterpillar Asia. John also managed all of Caterpillar’s business in New South Wales, Australia, and the South Pacific before returning to the United States where he managed over $500 million worth of business in the southeast U.S. John spent half of his career with Caterpillar in overseas assignments including Singapore and Sydney. He worked on virtually every aspect of Caterpillar’s business and saw success in negotiating large transactions, increasing market share and advising Caterpillar dealers on all aspects of their business operations.

Attorney - Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld (Washington D.C.)

John began his career working in the corporate and securities group of one of the nation’s preeminent law firms.

Other Experience and Accomplishments

John’s other accomplishments include being named to the boards of the Singapore American Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore Confederation of Industries and a co-chair of the Transportation and Land Use Committee of Envision Central Texas. Writing on numerous business and transportation issues, John has been published in a number of periodicals ranging from the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology to the Austin American Statesman. John was also named a member of the Littlefield Society and the Chancellor’s Council for the University of Texas System and a Keeton Fellow at the University of Texas School of Law. John takes great pride in also being involved in a number of charitable activities.
